About Us
Feed the Ferals - Rockland County, Inc.
We are a 501(c)3 with a mission to protect the feral and free-roaming cats in Rockland County by ensuring access to food, shelter, and medical care. We educate our community on the importance of supporting colony caretakers, whose ongoing efforts allow cats to be humanely Trap-Neuter-Returned, discourage unwanted wandering and scavenging, and improve the cats' quality of life by creating safer, healthier colonies. We also strive to extend comfort and companionship to people in need through our Tender Paws Companion Project.

OUR FOCUS AREAS

Food
We know that many people in Rockland County struggle to make ends meet, and we see the heartbreak that comes when devoted colony caretakers are unable to provide food for the cats who depends on them. Feed the Ferals - Rockland County, Inc. works to distribute cat food as fairly and equitably as possible to those in need-without regard to race, politics, orientation, or identity.

Shelter
Feed the Ferals - Rockland County, Inc. has partnered with skilled individuals and the generous carpentry students and instructors at Rockland BOCES to provide shelters for our feline friends who need a little extra protection from the elements.

Medical
When funds allow, we are proud to additionally support our colony caretakers in funding medical necessities for the cats in their care who may need a little extra TLC.

Education
We have encountered many community members who do not understand the benefit of allowing individuals to continue feeding and caring for colonies. In cases like these, we always take the time to educate and explain the benefits to both the cats and the community that come with caring for these homeless felines.

Tender Paws Companion Project
In addition to our other focus areas, Feed the Ferals - Rockland County, Inc. is proud to provide an interactive cat companion to those who could mentally and physically benefit from all the positives a cat would bring into their lives, but do not have the means to care for a real one. Our first companion cat, "Faith", has found a wonderful home with United Hospice of Rockland, bringing smiles and comfort to the residents there. We hope to extend the program to ailing children, elderly, veterans, and other groups who may benefit from some purrs.
